Buckingham Palace announced on Tuesday that Queen Elizabeth II will move to Windsor Palace, a week before the scheduled date, and a visit to the country that the Emperor and his wife are supposed to undertake due to the Coronavirus is being considered.

Queen Elizabeth (93 years old) has already postponed some of her general obligations, and further changes are being made in her activities due to the British government's tightening measures to contain the emerging coronavirus.

"Her Majesty will move to Windsor Palace for the Easter period on Thursday, March 19, a week ahead of the pre-determined date," AFP quoted a palace statement as saying. "It is possible that the Queen will remain there after the Easter period."

Meetings have been maintained this week with Prime Minister Boris Johnson and others, but future meetings will be considered.

Several events that were to be attended by the Queen or other members of the royal family will also be delayed or canceled in the coming months.

The statement added that in coordination with the government, the fate of other events, including the visit of an emperor and empress of Japan to Britain, will be announced.

The visit was scheduled to take place next spring.
